Arbitrum’s $10M Audit Program Is Live: Apply to Secure Your Smart Contracts

The Arbitrum Audit Subsidy Program is now accepting applications from blockchain projects building or planning to build in the Arbitrum ecosystem. The subsidy program, launched by the Arbitrum Foundation following DAO’s approval, allocates $10M in ARB worth of grants and investments over 12 months to subsidise third-party smart contract audits. This initiative is one of the largest audit subsidy programs currently available in the crypto industry.

The program is designed to support early-stage projects within the Arbitrum ecosystem that demonstrate strong product-market fit and high growth potential. It aims to address funding barriers that often force early-stage projects to either allocate large portions of capital to security requirements or risk launching without proper audits. By making audits more accessible, the program helps raise the overall security and reliability of the Arbitrum ecosystem.

Meet the Auditors Powering the Program

The Foundation has already undertaken the process of selecting audit firms to participate in the program. After a rigorous evaluation process involving over 30 applicants, the following 12 firms were approved based on their expertise and track record:

For more details on the auditor selection process and their responsibilities, please refer to this forum post. Approved firms will be matched with eligible projects and compensated (partially or fully) through the program’s subsidy grants, depending on the scope of work, auditor availability, and negotiation outcomes.

How to Apply: Audit Subsidy Program

Projects can apply to the Arbitrum Audit Subsidy Program through an open application process. The standardized form collects key details about the project, team, audit scope, and budget, ensuring a streamlined and fair review.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by the Arbitrum Audit Committee, which includes representatives from the Arbitrum Foundation, Offchain Labs, and Gustavo Grieco, the technical expert elected by the DAO. The committee evaluates each application based on:

  • Technical maturity
  • Team experience
  • Likelihood of success
  • Alignment with the Arbitrum ecosystem

Early-stage projects that are yet to launch, are migrating from another chain, or are already operational in the Arbitrum ecosystem, whether on Arbitrum One or launching their own Arbitrum chain, are eligible to apply. But only new codebases or significantly modified code qualify for the subsidy. Once approved, projects are required to keep the audited code exclusive to Arbitrum for a set duration. The Audit Subsidy Program is a major step forward in making smart contract security more accessible. If you're building on Arbitrum, now’s the time to apply and launch with confidence!
